About Us

We are Lowry, one of the 8 Scout Districts in the Greater Manchester West County. There are 11 Scout Groups, 2 Explorer Units, 1 Young Leader Unit and a Scout Network in Lowry, covering Clifton, Pendlebury, Swinton and the City of Salford. Each week over 500 young people in our local community aged between 6-18 are involved in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.

We have over 100 adult volunteers who help to run the District and its Groups, providing fun activities for our young people while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future. #SkillsForLife 

We are proud to be part of the largest co-educational youth organisation in the world.

We change lives by offering 6 to 25-year olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in our community.

Scouting helps young people reach their full potential. Scouts develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural & disability awareness and commitment. All of which helps young people to get jobs, save lives and even change the world.
