Ryan started Scouting at the age of 8. He has been through all sections, and several groups. Ryan started in Lowry as an Assistant Scout Leader at 43rd Salford, before being appointed as the District Youth Commissioner. After 6 months as Youth Commissioner, he was appointed as the Deputy District Commissioner supporting Elizabeth Samson in running the District. In July 2019 Elizabeth stepped down as DC, and Ryan was appointed as DC in October 2019. You will often see Ryan with his “perfect hair”, and a clipboard or folder in hand. Ryan’s professional background is in teaching, where he teaches mathematics in a secondary school.
The Lowry District Board of Trustees exists to support the District Lead Volunteer in meeting the responsibilities of the appointment and to provide support for Scout Groups and Explorer Units.
