Skills for Life

We are Lowry, one of the 8 Scout Districts in the Greater Manchester West County.

Welcome to Lowry District

There are 11 Scout Groups, 2 Explorer Units, 1 Young Leader Unit and a Scout Network in Lowry, covering Clifton, Pendlebury, Swinton and the City of Salford.

Each week over 500 young people in our local community aged between 4-18 are involved in Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.

We have over 100 adult volunteers who help to run the District and its Groups, providing fun activities for our young people while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future.

Adult volunteers

The Scouts award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
